Reinforcement-matrix interactions and their consequences on the mechanical behavior of basalt fibers-cement composites

In order to prepare basalt fibers-reinforced cement-based mortars with higher compatibility between reinforcement and matrix, fibers new surface treatments (sizing) were studied looking for enhanced interaction at the interphase cement matrix.
